Cool Christmas Giveaway

Welcome to those of you who have popped over from Lysa TerKeurst's blog to participate in the Cool Christmas Giveaway. I'm so excited to participate in my very first giveaway. If you're new here, please feel free to look around and definitely stop back again sometime.

So here's the deal . . . we are big into books at our house. Most (ahem!) of us love to read, so I thought the most appropriate thing for me to give away would be books. So, I'm giving away a $25 gift certificate to either Borders or Barnes and Noble (you can choose) so you can get some good books and READ.

All you have to do is leave me a comment (along with your email address so I can get in touch with you if you win) telling me one of two things: either the best book you've read lately OR your favorite holiday movie. We've been talking about both topics lately around here, so I'd love your input as well. I'll choose the winner on Sunday night and post the name on Monday morning.

Thanks again for stopping by, and have a very Merry Christmas!

  1. You know me. . .I'm always up for a good giveaway!

Um. . . .my favorite Christmas movies (if I'm totally honest) are "Christmas Story" and "Christmas Vacation." But, the traditionalist in me LOVES "White Christmas" most of all.

  2. I am reading through Amy Carmichael's "Edges of His Ways" devotional. (that made me sound really smart, didn't it?)
I also just read James Mitchner's "Alaska", but had to put it down at around page 300 because there were like 900 pages left, and it was wearing me out. :)

Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story, and A Muppets Christmas Carol.

  3. Oooh Barnes and Noble! My favorite Christmas Movie is White Christmas. A book series I really recommend is the "Yada Yada Prayer Group". There are seven books and they follow the stories of an unlikely group of women who become prayer partners and close friends. The author is Neta Jackson. Thanks for entering me in this great giveaway!

  17. Thanks for participating in the giveaway! In blessing others, I'm sure you will be blessed in return!

I LOVE to read so it's hard to pick one favorite book, so I didn't...I chose two! Gone with the Wind (couldn't put it down and hadn't seen the movie yet when I first read it 15 years ago). Also, 90 Minutes in Heaven (amazing!).

Favorite Christmas movie? Didn't think I pick just one, did ya? A Christmas Story (watched it just last night with my fam)It's a Wonderful Life, and Elf. We try to watch as many as we can over the month. It's a tradition in our house!

    Blessings!

  18. Barnes and Noble!! What a great idea! I love books and so thankfully, does my fiance's family...it's one of my favorite parts about visiting them. I always come away with a new book!

A favorite series of mine is Thorn in my Heart, Fair is the Rose and Whence came a Prince from Liz Curtis Higgs. They're based on the biblical story of Jacob, Leah and Rachel and oh are they a good read! Everytime I read them I learn something new!

My favorite Christmas movie would have to be...is a cartoon I used to watch when I was little. It's about this little girl sent from an orphanage to somewhere. All she wants is a family for Christmas but the family she is supposed to go to ends up kicking her out. She finally gets taken in by the chief firefighter and his wife, who have always wanted a child. I wish I could remember what it was called...

    Have a wonderful day!
