Hang in there!

I honestly don't know where this week has gone. I have a million blog ideas rolling around in my brain, but I just haven't had a minute to sit down here and write them down.

I think my brain is frozen.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to post a couple of pictures of the mountains of snow surrounding my house. If you don't live here, you just can't comprehend how much snow we have right now.

Too bad I can't take a picture of the temperature.

Anyway, I wanted to say a quick hello and to ask you to bear with me. Tomorrow, I promise, I will be back with a true story about the cold and me and God. Believe me, it will be worth the trip back here.

Oh, and I just wanted to say a quick THANK YOU for reading. This morning I was at church and two different people came up to me at different times and said, "I really enjoy reading your blog." Honestly, it kind of blew me away. I didn't think anybody but my mom and sisters read my blog.

If you've read this blog more than once, would you just leave me a quick comment telling me hello? You can comment anonymously, but it would be fun for me to hear from you.

Stay warm. I'll see you tomorrow!

  1. I remember the first time someone from church that I didn't realize read my blog commented on something I'd written. It was a mixture of gratitude and "oh my gosh, what did I say?!"

    I love your blog, Shelly!

  2. Love your blog--read all the updates...and yes...this snow is piling up...but not as much as your's I'm sure. You are an hour or so more north of us and we just have the terrible COLD and WIND!! School was cancelled today and it's already cancelled for tomorrow. What do you do with three kids in the house and nowhere to go? I'm running out of ideas. The house does not stay picked up that is for sure as they all move from one thing to the next. The oldest has been sick all week. Well, he did manage school Monday but really should have stayed home. As long as he has Advil he's ok...but if not...he's miserable? Says his head hurts? I'm starting to kinda worry--but what do I tell the doctor? Somthing is just not right? I don't know--I might have to call tomorrow. Anyways--guess I just needed someone to tell my worries. Thanks for being the sounding block Shelly. Talk to you later--Marie

  3. Thanks for the comments, girls! Angie, that's my reaction, too--"oh my gosh, what did I say??!!" Oh well. Take me or leave me, I guess. :)

Glad to be your sounding board, Marie. Hang in there with the kids at home. I'm actually hoping for a snow day tomorrow so I don't have to go anywhere!

  4. I read your blog every day...well, sometimes I get behind and have to do a little 'catch-up', but I enjoy reading it all. Keep up the good work!

  5. Hey Shelly, I love your blog and ususally read a weeks worth when I need a break from number crunching at work.

    Great job!

  6. I found you through Lysa T.'s site today. Read the most recent post and then kinda just got sucked in... I love your style and just was drawn in to your story about the woman and the little girl in the cold. It's hard to God's whispers to your heart are so compelling? I'll be back to visit often!

  7. I read your blog every week or two when I sit down and look at a few blogs, and I really like it! :-) I am still fascinated by this blogging world! Love the story you shared about the woman and her child... love to see how God speaks to His people and what happens when they obey! W. played b'ball today and K. was at the scoreboard -- his face lit up when I pointed her out! :-) Hope to see you at church tomorrow... thanks for your posts; they do brighten my day... and we need that with the weather lately... glad you captured those pics!
